Aperture (Slide Images from Lecture)

  • Aperture – a hole or an opening through which light travels. More specifically, the aperture of a camera is the opening that determines the cone angle of light that comes to a focus inside the camera body.
  • Depth of Field (DOF) – in optics, particularly as it relates to photography,  the distance between the nearest and farthest objects in a scene that appear acceptably sharp and in-focus in an image.
